Stars In Our Eyes

Stars In Our Eyes is an oil portrait on panel with electroluminescent detailing. It explores our relationship to reality and the world around us.

The piece also explores truth, fantasy and fiction.

The composition itself suggests a dreamlike state; there are connotations of the subconscious mind and subliminal messaging.

The text, an original poem, is an exploration of innocent, childish hope alongside the melancholy regret of adulthood. It also looks into the commercial and corporate world that surrounds us: our mind is constantly filled with noise.

One of the main ideas is whether or not we can truly think for ourselves in today's society. How can we know if our thoughts come from our own understanding or from a marketing ploy? Have we trained our minds or had our minds changed?

We are in an everyday battle to understand the difference between truth, fantasy and fiction.
